New design!

I've updated the design around here a bit!

Probably doesn't make any sen-se to whoever haven't written a line of code in their lives, but I like it. Some things could of course use a little more attention, but as I'm no web designer with HTML or JS knowledge I'll let it be this way. It's good enough for me, for now.

Okay, I've decided to start using this blog again for future updates to some projects I'm currently working on. I won't reveal what they are yet but they are elf related. Some elfs, some source code, and maybe a developer related program if I find it worth finishing and publishing.

Oh, and www.box.net/nkls is the home for all of the files I'll publish. Check it out now for some candy if you like!

New flash wallpaper!

It displays the time in text, like "five to three." and "twelve o'clock." etc.
It's rounded to the nearest 5-minute time, so 5:24 will be "twenty-five past five." and not "twenty-four past five.".

The rar file contains five versions of the wallpaper with different fonts, and the source (fla) is included too. I also have it in Swedish if someone wants it, just ask in the comments.

iPod flash menu V2

The navigation in this flash menu is simple, just the arrow keys, and mid-key / left softkey to open an menu item. Some menu items can be opened as both a menu in flash (right key), and the phones normal menu (mid-key). So if you don't like my layout of the messaging menu, you can always open the original one.

The other keys, (1-9, * and #) is set as shortcuts just as a normal menu, except that 1 opens the Application menu, and 2 Games.

Hex modification
The flash file can be customized with a hex-editor.

If you don't want it to vibrate, you can change the "1" in the beginning of the file, just after "VIBRATE" to "0" (zero).

You can also change the shortcuts (1, 2, ... ,#).
In the beginning of the file, you can read "App1_ID" followed by "App526_ID". If you change "App526_ID" to "App110_ID" for example, walkman will be opened when you press the 1-key.
The "App"-code can be determined by either looking in the English_language_v2.as (link at bottom of post), or the menu itself. ( 110 means: 1 - music, 1 -Walkman, 0 - nothing). The same can be done with all of the keys, "*" = AppST_ID, "#" = AppNS_ID.

The phone model can be renamed by changing the "w810i" after PHONE_NAME to your model's name. (NOTICE! Always 5 letters! If you need more, please tell me in the comments!)

Updates from v 1.0 :

Frame rate is set to 40 fps. Should make the menu run smoother.
List wrap. When at top/bottom of a list and press up/down, you go to the bottom/top of the list.
Multi language. All languages is now in available through one .swf file (File size ~20 kb bigger).

SE Shortcut Generator

This is a program that can create shortcuts for your phone.

Usage
This program can create shortcuts for SE phones (extension ".@"). It's designed to be easy to use, and you can create multiple shortcut at once.

How to use
To create a shortcut, simply just drop the files you want to create shortcuts to on the program.

The first time you run the program, it will ask you for what drive letters (H:/, I:/, J:/ etc.) your phone has. This is needed so that the program can determinate if the file is in the phone memory, on the memory stick, or elsewhere. The program will then create a file called "settings.dat", which stores the drive letters, and can be modified with notepad in a few ways. You can also read a short instruction in it. The file should always be in the same folder as the program, or it will generate a new one.

If the file you try to make a shortcut to isn't in the phone's memory, it will search in the file name for folders named "ifs", "tpa", "system", "usb", "card" or "smsdata", and if one of them exist, the program will use that folder as the "root" folder. You can decide which ones you want it to search for by editing the settings.dat. This is useful if you have a copy of the FS somewhere on your computer. (more info in the file)

The program will create the shortcuts in the same path as the file. But you can also tell the program to save all shortcuts in one folder, by entering the dir in the row under the "Default save directory:". (more info in the file)

If you press "s" when the program has loaded, you will see the information that the program have read from the settings.dat file. If you press it when you create files, the program won't stop to let you know the status of each file, but run on till the last shortcut.

Limitations
You can NOT create/place working shortcuts to/in the "ifs/" folder. (At least not in w810)
